{"id":46,"date":"2025-03-13T03:57:50","date_gmt":"2025-03-13T03:57:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/app01.lib.eduhk.hk\/tl\/?page_id=46"},"modified":"2025-04-23T09:58:13","modified_gmt":"2025-04-23T01:58:13","slug":"vtl","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/app01.lib.eduhk.hk\/tl\/vtl\/","title":{"rendered":"Special Grant for Strategic Development of Virtual Teaching and Learning (2021-2023)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual teaching and learning (VTL) has been widely adopted to substitute the traditional face-to-face mode. In order to support the pursuit of a forward-looking and coherent approach in the adoption of VTL technologies in higher education institutions, the University Grants Committee (UGC) and Quality Assurance Council have introduced a one-off Special Grant for Strategic Development of Virtual Teaching and Learning (the Special Grant) to UGC-funded universities, comprising (i) initiatives developed by individual universities, and (ii) inter-institutional collaborative activities to be jointly undertaken with contributions from two or more UGC-funded universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The four themes (broad categories) of the Special Grant are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Governance frameworks, assessment methods, quality assurance systems and professional best practice of VTL;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enrichment of the overall educational experience of virtual learning;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New strategies, pedagogies, platforms and facilities in pursuit of longer-term visions on VTL;
