Teaching Development Grant

The TDG scheme was established more than a decade ago, with the primary function of providing academic and teaching staff with opportunities for professional development. To strengthen the strategic role of TDG in supporting teaching and student learning, increasing emphasis is placed on determining expected project outcomes and strategic priorities; implementing larger-scale projects; and developing a relatively long-term review system for application approval and reporting to further assure project quality.

The TDG are centrally administered and generally oriented towards thematic areas identified as being of strategic significance across the University. TDG funding falls into the following two major categories.

  1. Faculty-level TDG for initiatives implemented by faculties/departments/units to enhance student learning; and
  2. university-level TDG for the university-wide promotion of cross-disciplinary/cross-faculty collaboration.
