Funding Scheme on T&L Related Proposals

With a view to motivating and better enabling UGC-funded universities to accelerate the adoption of necessary pedagogical changes and innovations to meet the learning needs of the new generation of students and enhance students’ learning experience, the UGC has introduced the Funding Scheme for Teaching and Learning Related Proposals in the 2012-15 Triennium. The Funding Scheme provided one-off funding to support worthwhile initiatives proposed by the UGC-funded universities that could help meet the learning needs of the new generation of students of this information age and better prepare them to compete well in the globalised economy.

The theme of the fund scheme are as followed:

  1. Theme-based Projects on Teaching and Learning;
  2. Collaborative Forums;
  3. Professional Development on Teaching and Learning.

In view of the overwhelming support from universities to the Funding Scheme in 2012-15 Triennium, the UGC launched the 2016-19 Funding Scheme to incentivise universities in exploring and developing further in the sector-wide strategic areas including the following:

  1. Innovation;
  2. Enhancement of student learning experience;
  3. Enhancement of internationalisation and engagement with Mainland China;
  4. Language enhancement
