普通話的同音字在粵語中未必同音，學習者因缺乏符合認知原理的、有系統的輸入，經常導致過度推類(over-generalization)，形成認讀偏誤，影響交際。 計劃將建立混成學習系統(Blended Learning)，以電子化非同步與非正式學習(synergy between formal and non-formal learning)的協同作用，讓本校內地生及國際生更有效率地正確認識普通話同音字的粵語發音，融入本地社群，提升四項核心能力。

不少雇主期望大學生有良好語文能力，但據業界近年意見顯示，部分畢業生中文水平，不論是書寫還是口語傳意能力，皆未達職場要求。為鞏固本校學生中文能力，本計畫旨在設計一套適合全校各級學生自主學習的網上多媒體教材，讓他們能隨時隨地提升職場中文傳意能力，有助求職，並應付日後工作需要。教材套包括「實用文傳意」及「口頭傳意」兩部分，讓學生就業前裝備自己，加強競爭力。
